Your garage door s logic board is the brain of your garage door opener.
Genie garage door starts to close then goes back up.
Then manually lift or close the door until the carriage locks into place.
My garage door starts to close and then opens back up as if it is hitting something.
Notice in the first image below the slotted gap in the bar that the red cord is attached to disappears.
This is almost always the result of a dirty or obstructed safety feature.
If there solid and the door still doesnt go down hold the button on the inside of the garage that is on the wall all the down until the garage door goes down and let me know if it goes down now.
Adjust the limits as needed.
Close the garage door with the opener and watch it closely as it closes.
This brain can wear out in time so you could need a replacement.
Check if the limits are properly set.
Just recently when the door closes it reaches the floor and then goes all the way back up again.
Check if the safe t beams red led light.
My garage door opener doesn t close all the time.
This means it is in the engaged position.
If it is a new installation check the postion of the door arm.
Disconnect the garage door opener from the door and go through the troubleshooting.
Past several weeks the remotes are not working and the door seems to just do.
In order to fix this you ll want to make small changes to the close limit setting until the door opener knows to stop once the door has reached the floor.
If the garage door does not close completely or begins to close and then opens back up again the down limit switch needs.

If your garage door is closing fully and then reversing to open again then it may be due to a problem with the close limit switch.
Check your sensors on each side of the garage door and make sure that boith lights are solid.
Make sure only the safe t beams that came with this garage door opener are installed.
It goes partway down reverses direction and goes back up again.
