When garage doors won t close all of the way or they close unevenly spring adjustment may be called for.

Many garage door servicemen mark the springs with chalk or paint but you can probably wind the springs in the time it would take me to explain how to read the marks.
Be sure to have all your tools inside before closing the door unless you have an alternate access door to the garage.

To adjust your garage door s side mounted springs first open your door fully and secure it in place with a c clamp below the bottom roller.
Retest the door balance as you did in step 1.

Open it just as wide as you can without hitting the garage door opener s stop bolt and place a clamp on the track on both sides to keep the door in.
